Many years ago I was inspired by eastern disciplines whose teachings informed:

Illusion will be broken and the veils will be lifted from your spiritual eyes'

Now in 2008 I can say that I have realised the truth of these words because all of the above has happened to me opening me into 'new consciousness'

My personal experience of self realisation enables me to say that enlightenment is not esoteric and out of reach, attainable only by those who retreat from society, and that anyone who feels ready to choose enlightenment in this lifetime whilst leading a perfectly normal life can do so
